The Prentice Institute Research Seed Grant is an award of up to $8,500. Application deadline is April 6, 2023. Only Prentice Institute affiliates with an academic appointment at the University of Lethbridge are eligible to apply; co-applicants need not be affiliates, nor with the University of Lethbridge. The purpose of the Seed Grant is to support the development of a research project, so that the applicant might leverage further funding for that project. See the Request For Proposals for details.
The mandate of the Prentice Institute is to conduct and support research focused on changing human populations and the potential impacts of these changes on social, environmental, and economic factors. Within the context of this mandate, the Prentice Institute funds research projects focused on one or more of the following areas (1) Populations, (2) Economy, (3) Ecosystems, and (4) Health. The objective of the Prentice Institute Research Seed Grant is to foster the development of projects across institutions and organizations which focus on one or more of these core areas, and which address a clear research-related knowledge gap or need.
