Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Climate Change Resilience: Building Trans-American-European Research Partnerships

Led by Drs. Patrick Wilson and Andrea Cuéllar, this Destination Horizon project supports the development of an international partnership toward a future Horizon Europe application focused on Indigenous-led climate resilience across the Americas. Working with Sacha Awana of the Quijos Nation in Ecuador, the Kainai Ecosystem Protection Association in Canada, the Mesoamerican Permaculture Institute in Guatemala, and academic collaborators at Oxford and in Spain, the project will strengthen an Indigenous North–South research network examining how place-based Traditional Ecological Knowledge supports biodiversity, food systems, ecosystem restoration, and climate adaptation.
