Transatlantic Partnership for Grassroots-led Socio-Ecological Restoration

Drs. Andrea Cuéllar and Patrick Wilson’s Mitacs–Horizon Europe International Mobility Award supports the expansion of their Pan-American research consortium on Indigenous-led socioecological restoration to include European partners. The award will enable Cuéllar and Wilson to formalize collaboration with researchers at the Universitat de Vic–Universitat Central de Catalunya whose expertise in agroecology and food systems complements the work of Sacha Awana, the Kainai Ecosystem Protection Association and the Mesoamerican Permaculture Institute. This partnership will strengthen the international consortium and advance a Horizon Europe application focused on biodiversity restoration, food security and sovereignty, and Indigenous Knowledge Systems.
