Remembering Bill Reimer

Along with the Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation, the Prentice Institute is saddened to hear of Dr. William (Bill) Reimer’s passing on July 15, 2024. Dr. Hallstrom collaborated with Bill on a number of initiatives, including the 2015 Rural Policy Learning Commons Leadership Summit. Bill has been a central figure in rural research for decades, including serving as the lead for the New Rural Economy project which, at the time, was the largest research project ever funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
