I am an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Lethbridge. I am also an Associate Director of the Prentice Institute for Global Population and Economy. I received my B.A. (Honors) and M.Phil. in Economics in 1992 and 1995 respectively from University of Ghana. I hold an M. I teach courses in International Trade and Finance, Economic Development, Intermediate Macroeconomics and Advanced Macroeconomics at the Undergraduate level. At the Graduate level, I have been involved with Applied Econometrics, Advanced Macroeconomics and Advanced Trade Theory. I have taught at the University of Lethbridge from 2006 to date. Prior to that, I was Assistant Professor at the Concordia University from 2004 to 2006 and a Faculty Lecturer at McGill University from 2001 to 2006. Apart from my teaching experience, I have served as an Economist/Consultant to the World Bank from 1998 to 2002. From 1995 to 1997, I worked as an Economist/Consultant to Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), Accra, Ghana.
My research work is mainly focused on two broad themes. The first is how international trade affects economic growth and income distribution in the developing world. The second focus is on the role of international capital flow and exchange rate in the determination of current account balances and economic development in developing countries.
I am a member of several committees both within the Economics Department and the University of Lethbridge and undertake journal reviews for a number of Journals. I am a twice recipient of the University of Lethbridge Book Award (2007 and 2011).
I love to travel and in particular drive my family across the Provinces of Canada and the States of the U.S. We have so far travelled to eight of the ten Provinces and forty-three of the fifty States. I obviously love to interact with people. I am happily married and a proud father of five strong boys.
